In Toronto, Canada, together with the people from ByNature Design, Strongbow transformed a dreary downtown parking lot into an awesome little green city oasis to inspire Torontonians to do the same, everywhere around town! We also donated a truckload of plants to the ‘Laneway Project’ that transforms Toronto’s neglected concrete and asphalt laneways into green and artful community spaces for all to enjoy. Let’s make the city a greener place!
For our Toronto Gold Apple Nature Remix Act we brought together some inspiring people who make transforming concrete and brick into beautiful green spaces their vocation:
“For me it is really important to be outside and surround myself with the beauty of nature. Unfortunately I always feel like I never have enough time to go into nature, which is one of the reasons we should bring nature to us. People spend about 80% of their time indoors, so that’s why at By Nature we really feel it’s important to make indoor spaces healthy living environments. We want everyone to join the movement to transform their cities, all over the world!”
“My original training was in architecture. But I was interested in the interaction between space and how people use it. We spend our lives surrounded by concrete, asphalt and brick - and you need a little bit of nature in your life, a softer space that you can relax in. Let’s all work together and look at the neglected spaces in our cities and transform them into green and complete spaces that are great assets to our neighbourhoods.”
Our Toronto Gold Apple Nature Remix Act brought together an inspiring bunch of likeminded people, not only to demonstrate how, together with nature, we can transform brick and concrete into lush green gardens, but also to have a lot of fun in the process:
